Indigenous Languages and Traditional Folkongs Heritage Workshop: Hakka and Waitau (1) & (2)

About the Event

The “Database of Hong Kong Local Traditional Folk Songs” Project, led by Dr Stephen Cheung and funded by the Intangible Cultural Heritage Funding Scheme, was a two year initiative to preserve and systematize local folksong recordings. Two workshops on Hakka and Waitau traditions featured curated materials from the database. Guided by Prof Lau Chun-fat and Dr Lau Chaak-ming, with Mr Lam Ming-chiu as informant, participants gained authentic linguistic and cultural insights.

Abstract

「香港本土傳統民歌資料庫」是一個為期兩年的資助項目，旨在整理和修復香港歷史博物館館藏的本土傳統民歌錄音及文字資料，構建一個系統化、便於檢索的資料庫，並將其存放於館內供公眾使用。首兩節講座向公眾介紹資料庫並分享研究成果，資料庫內容豐富，大部分尚未被學者引用。四節工作坊將使用從資料庫中整理出的特別教材，讓公眾透過參與和學習，親身體驗及欣賞本土客家話、圍頭話和漁民話及相關傳統民歌的各項特質。工作坊特邀兩位語言學者劉鎮發教授及劉擇明博士協助。此外，林銘超先生將蒞臨示範元朗圍頭話，而黎帶金女士則將示範漁民嘆歌，分享漁民話及歌謠的魅力。

Speaker Bio

張國雄博士專研本土傳統歌謠，於香港大學獲得博士學位。現任香港本土語言保育協會會長，曾任非物質文化遺產諮詢委員，致力於推動本土文化保育，並經常主持相關講座與工作坊。張博士在香港演藝學院任教逾二十年，曾任研究生課程主任，現為兼任講師。
