About the Event

Prof LAU Chun-fat, a linguist who grew up in a local Hakka village, delivered an engaging talk that blended historical research with his own lived experience. Co-organized with the Association for Conservation of Hong Kong Indigenous Languages, Heung Yee Kuk N.T., and Hakka Studies, the talk was marked by Prof LAU’s responsive and personal approach. His storytelling brought the history of local settlements to life, making the cultural heritage of the Hakka community relatable to all.

Abstract

隨著環境變遷,傳統文化與鄉村生活正面臨種種挑戰。本講座將由劉鎮發教授主講,分享客家村落的歷史演變與現況,與參加者共同探討文化保育的可能性,並鼓勵大眾思考自身在文化傳承中可擔當的角色。
